Verizon is currently running a really decent promo on the recently announced Google Pixel 3. Allowing its customers – both new and existing – to pick up a Google Pixel 3, and get a second one on them. You will need to add a line to take advantage of this deal. It's part of the Buy one, Get one free promotion that Verizon is currently running, and a great way to pick up two new smartphones for the price of just one, as long as you plan to stick with Verizon for at least two full years.
The Google Pixel 3 is the latest smartphone from Google and it is receiving rave reviews. There is the Pixel 3 and then the larger Pixel 3 XL, both of which are available in Just Black, Clearly White and Not Pink colors. The two phones are largely the same, aside from the different screen sizes and battery capacities. The Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch full HD+ resolution OLED display with a 2915mAh capacity battery, while the larger Pixel 3 XL sports a 6.3-inch Quad HD+ resolution OLED display (with a notch) and a 3430mAh capacity battery. Otherwise, both smartphones sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. There is also a 12-megapixel sensor on the back of these phones, with two 8-megapixel sensors on the front – one of them being a wide-angle sensor. Google is once again putting a lot of work into software on these cameras, producing features like Top Shot, Night Sight and Super Res Zoom. Things that you would typically need a second camera to have done. These are both really great smartphones, and it's definitely worth it to take advantage of this deal.
Verizon is offering buy one, get one free here, but there are a few caveats, as usual. For one, you need to add at least one new line to your account. So for existing users, you will need to add a new line for the second pixel. And of course, new customers will need to open an account with two lines or more. Secondly, Verizon is only offering up to $799 credit for the second Pixel 3. So technically, you would only get the Pixel 3 for free. As the Pixel 3 XL is $929 (that's $30 more than what the Google Store is charging for it), so you would be paying $130 for the Pixel 3 XL, which is still an absolute steal for that device. And finally, you will need to stick with Verizon for the full two years to get your full $799 credit from them. This is because Verizon offers the BOGO in the form of a monthly bill credit. With the Pixel 3 XL costing $33.33 per month, that means you will see a bill credit of about $33.33 per month on your statement. That means that you can't just take the Pixel 3 smartphones off of Verizon and to another carrier shortly after purchasing them. Which is what many people would prefer to do.
