Amazon currently has Sony's XAV-AX100 after-market head unit available for just $299. This head unit was already pretty cheap, compared to the competition, at $399. But now you can save another $100 off of the regular price. This will allow you to bring Android Auto (and Apple CarPlay) into your vehicle for much less.
The Sony XAV-AX100 is a 6.4-inch receiver that you can install into your vehicle and get Android Auto and Apple CarPlay in your vehicle. Now this does not support wireless Android Auto, so you will still need to plug it in when you get in. With Android Auto, you'll be able to connect your phone and essentially have a bigger version of your phone in the car which you can use when driving. It will project your phone onto the screen, but it is limited a bit. So you'll have access to Google Maps or Waze for navigation. There is also a panel for making and receiving phone calls. As well as another panel for entertainment. Now this is only audio apps, so stuff like Google Play Music, Spotify, iHeart Radio, Audible and so much more. Allowing you to listen to your favorite tunes, as well as your favorite audio books and podcasts while on the road.
This head unit isn't here just for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay though. It will also bring satellite radio through Sirius XM, and Bluetooth. Arguably this is a pretty expensive way to bring Bluetooth into your vehicle, but it is included here. So if you don't want to use Android Auto every time you get into the car, you can just start playing music from your phone once you get in. Since Bluetooth will connect automatically, it does work really well. Sony also improves the audio quality from the speakers in your car with the XAV-AX100. So if you don't have premium audio in your vehicle, Sony's head unit here will definitely help to improve that and bring virtual speakers to your dashboard, so you can really jam out to your favorite tunes while you are driving. This head unit is one of the more popular ones out there, with over 188 reviews that net an average of four out of five stars on Amazon's website. So it's definitely a good one to check out if you need a head unit.
This is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. However, if you are in one of the select areas that has Prime Now, this is also available and you can get it within a couple of hours, if you are in desperate need. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $119/year (or $59/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits. That includes Amazon Prime Video, Twitch Prime, and even some benefits at Whole Foods.
