Smartphone accessory manufacturer Moment unveiled a self-titled line of accessories designed for the Galaxy Note 9, Samsung's latest Android flagship that the South Korean tech juggernaut announced on Thursday following months of anticipation. The series consists of yet another iteration of the Photo Case designed to both protect Samsung's newest phablet and support Moment's add-on lenses. The new Photo Case version is available in Black and Walnut color options, with both being priced at $29.99. As the lineup is still in a pre-production stage, neither variant of the non-electronic photography case is available for purchase just yet, though Moment is already accepting pre-registrations, having estimated its first units will start being shipped to customers between September 27 and October 2.
The Photo Case is compatible with two Moment-made glass modules - the Wide Lens and Superfish Lens, priced at $99.99 and $89.99, respectively. The names of the lenses are relatively self-explanatory, with the gadgets being designed to expand the range of possibilities offered by the dual-camera setup found on the back of the Galaxy Note 9. While Samsung's newest Android flagship features a telephoto lens, it lacks a truly wide-angle one akin to the glass used by LG's recent high-end devices and is thus more limited in regards to its ability to shoot landscapes or other types of highly inclusive shots. Moment's Wide Lens promises to address that issue, especially when paired with a 62mm Filter Mount compatible with every other module from the company which carries a $39.99 price tag. A Lens Case is also on offer and will set you back $19.99, whereas the company's Leather Wrist Strap compatible with the Galaxy Note 9-specific case is priced at $29.99.
The advantage of buying into Moment's ecosystem is that you can simply change your protective case once you get a new smartphone and have all of the lenses and other accessories you previously purchased still work with the new handset. Besides the Galaxy Note 9 Photo Case, Moment's other gadgets can already be purchased from the company's website. The Galaxy Note 9 is currently available for pre-orders and will be released globally on August 24.
