Philips Hue debuted a slew of new "outdoor" lights in the past few months, and it looks like it'll be adding an outdoor LightStrip very soon as well. The outdoor version of its LightStrip showed up on the company's Dutch website, though it is not yet available for purchase, and is not available on the US website yet either, it is clear that it is going to be announced fairly soon.
This LightStrip from Philips Hue doesn't appear to be much different from its regular LightStrip, though it is completely colored, instead of just having LED lights every few inches. Of course, the big difference here is the fact that the Philips Hue Outdoor LightStrip is weatherproof. This means you can leave it outside even when it is raining or snowing. The power cord is also weatherproof, so you can plug it in outside as well. This LightStrip would be a great addition for a yard, especially during parties, as you can obviously change the color of the light to whatever color you want. This includes going to purple, blue, red, yellow or really any color. These support millions of different colors.
When Philips Hue does actually announce this LightStrip, it will likely be a bit more expensive than the regular LightStrip. This is because it is slightly different and is also weatherproof, which does cost a bit more money then not having it weatherproof. This is also the case for the other outdoor lights that Philips Hue have announced in the past few months. These include the Callaway Path light, the PAR38 bulb and a few others as well. These are all great lights, especially if you do entertain often outside, in the summer, and would like some interesting lights for your yard and such. Hopefully Philips will announce it fairly soon.
