NETATMO Partners With VELUX To Release A Smart Window

NETATMO has partnered with VELUX to release a new smart window. VELUX is a global leader in roof windows, so the partnership was definitely a good one for NETATMO to get into. This new smart window  is actually a "plug-and-play" system that smart sensor-based operation of roof windows, blinds and shutters. This can be used in homes worldwide. So it's not actually a fully smart window, but a sensor for your existing window. This is actually a better idea here, since it is going to be easier and cheaper to make your windows "smart".

VELUX and NETATMO are using smart algorithms to manage the climate in your home with this smart window. There are sensors placed in your home, which will register the climate which can also determine whether it's too hot or too cold, or when CO2 levels are too high and sends information to the gateway and then adjusts the window to rectify the situation. VELUX says that with this new system, it has moved roof windows from being a stationary product to an interactive, intelligent unit with the potential to constantly evolve. "This is the first version of our smart-home system, which we will continue to develop based on feedback from users" said VELUX in a prepared statement.

The VELUX ACTIVE starter pack is currently available from VELUX's website. This includes everything you need to get started in making your roof windows smarter and even your blinds in your home. This is going to cost you $295, and it'll begin shipping later this month. VELUX does not yet have a firm date for shipping. The Indoor Climate Sensors can be bought individually, which are priced at $99 each. You likely won't need to many of these Indoor Climate Sensors for your home, but it is a good idea to pick up an additional one, especially if you have a larger home.
