Huawei Intros Nova 3 With Kirin 970, 6GB Of RAM & EMUI 8.2

Huawei has just announced its third-gen ‘Nova’ smartphone, the Huawei Nova 3. This handset is actually quite powerful, it surprisingly comes with Huawei’s flagship processor, while in addition to that, it packs in plenty of RAM, and a modern design. That is a bit surprising as the Huawei Nova 2, which was announced back in May last year, came with Huawei’s mid-range processor, and it was a mid-range phone in basically every other way, but it seems like Huawei is looking to change that.

The Huawei Nova 3 is made out of metal and glass, the device sports a display notch, like many other Chinese smartphones these days, and its display comes with rounded corners. The Nova 3 comes with a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on the back, and below those two cameras, you will notice an LED flash. A rear-facing fingerprint scanner is also included in the package, and the device features really thin bezels. This handset actually resembles the Honor 10 quite a bit in terms of the design, though it’s considerably larger than the Honor 10 due to its large display. The back side of the device is curved, while all of its physical keys are located on the right. The Huawei Nova 3’s SIM card tray is accessible from the left, and a USB Type-C port lies on the bottom of this phone, along with the phone’s loudspeaker.

The Huawei Nova 3 features a 6.3-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) 19.5:9 display, 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card). The device is fueled by the Kirin 970 64-bit octa-core processor, while it packs in a 3,750mAh battery with fast charging. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on the phone with Huawei’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 8.2 skin. 16 and 24-megapixel cameras (both come with an f/1.8 aperture lens) are included on the back of the phone, while a single 24-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) sits on the phone’s front side. This phone comes with two nano SIM card slots (hybrid setup), while it measures 157 x 73.7 x 7.3mm, and weighs 166 grams. The Huawei Nova 3 comes in Purple, Black, Blue, and Gold color variants, while it is currently available for pre-order from Vmall in China, but it will be coming to a number of other markets in the future.
