Amazon has officially announced the day for Prime Day this year, and it all kicks off on Monday, July 16 at 3PM EST/12PM PST. Amazon is going to have 36 hours of deals, making it the longest Prime Day to-date. You're going to find some of the best deals of the year, during Prime Day, some are going to be better than Black Friday even. So this is a day you won't want to miss. We've compiled a list of things that you can do to prepare for Amazon Prime Day, which is next week.
You Must Be An Amazon Prime Member
Amazon Prime Day is for Prime members only. That means you're going to need to sign up for Amazon Prime. Luckily, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime and then cancel it after Prime Day and still take advantage of the great deals and quick shipping from Amazon. The reason why Amazon allows this, is because it is very confident that you will transition into a paid Prime member. Nearly three-quarters of free trial users do turn into paid Prime members, and that's thanks to all of the perks that Amazon now has included in Prime. This includes discounted Music Unlimited pricing, thousands of hours of free content in Amazon Prime Video, Twitch Prime, discounts at Whole Foods and so much more.
Update Your Payment Methods On Your Account
These deals are going to fly off of the shelves. Some of these deals will only be in stock for mere minutes. That means you're going to want to make sure that your payment methods are updated. You don't want to miss out on a deal because your credit card expired and you need to update it in your Amazon account. Do that ahead of time, and you won't miss out on any of these deals.
Make a List of Things You Want To Buy
If you're on a budget, and don't want to do a lot of impulse buying, it's going to be a good idea to make a list of things you're looking for. That way you only buy things you need or want, instead of things you don't need, just because it's on sale. Now whether this is a list of tech that you want to pick up, or even cleaning supplies, Amazon will be discounting all of it. It typically discounts tech the heaviest though, but all categories do get big discounts for Prime Day.
