Galaxy S8, Note 8 Get Home Screen Rotation Option Via Update

Samsung has released a new update for its Experience Home Launcher, and as part of it, it added home screen rotation for the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Note 8 smartphones. For those of you who do not know, this feature was already available in Samsung Experience Home Launcher on the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, but the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and the Note 8 did not have such an option until now.

If you head to Samsung Experience Home Launcher settings, you will see an option there named ‘Portrait mode only’, which will let you lock the launcher in portrait mode. If that option is not selected, the Samsung Experience Home Launcher will go to landscape if you change the orientation of your phone from vertical to horizontal, of course. There are quite a few of you out there that will want to keep the orientation of your home screen portrait all the time, but some of you are probably glad that you have an option to enable landscape mode as well. This very same option will probably be included in the Galaxy Note 9 from the get-go, as this version of the launcher is made for Android 8.1 Oreo, and the Galaxy Note 9 will almost certainly ship with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, so you can expect to see a similar build of Samsung Experience Home Launcher on that handset.

Having said that, the exact version of this launcher that sports landscape mode for the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and Note 8 is, and you can download it from the provided link down below, in case you didn't get it already, and you're unwilling to wait. The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will launch on August 9, in case you were wondering, as the company already scheduled its press conference in the US. The Galaxy Note 9 will pack in more features than the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus, though mainly because of the S Pen stylus that will ship with the device, but the Samsung Experience Home Launcher will probably be quite similar to the builds that are available on the Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, S9, S9 Plus, and the Note 8.
