Amazon has discounted Samsung's EVO Select 256GB Micro SD Card today for Prime Day. The original price here is actually $119.99, but it is on sale for $99.99 and for Prime Day, Amazon has taken another $15 off bringing the price all the way down to $84.99.
The Samsung EVO Select is one of the better micro SD cards out there. It has some pretty impressive read and write speeds, which are around 100MB/s and 90MB/s respectively. These speeds you likely won't see in real life, but it can get to that fast, which is about the fastest on almost any micro SD card right now. It is also plenty fast for recording 4K footage on your smartphone, without needing to wait for it to write to the card before you can record more footage. At 256GB of storage, this is a great micro SD card to add to your smartphone, especially if you have a Galaxy S9 which has 64GB already, you'll be able to bring your phone up to a total of 320GB which is pretty impressive. Of course, you can't store apps and games on the micro SD card on most phones, but it is useful for keeping music, videos, photos and such on your phone without using up all of your internal storage.
This is part of Amazon's Prime Day, which is ongoing now through midnight PST on July 17. However, you can only take advantage of this deal if you are a Prime member, so if you are not a member of Amazon Prime, you're going to want to sign up for Amazon Prime. Luckily, Amazon does offer up a free 30-day trial, which you can use for Prime Day and then cancel within a month and not pay a thing but take advantage of all of the deals on Amazon Prime Day, which is pretty neat.
