Deal: iRobot Roomba 690 Robot Vacuum For $297 - July 2018

Amazon is currently selling the iRobot Roomba 690 for just $297. This is a good deal for those that might have missed the deal on the Roomba 671 during Prime Day, where it was priced at $229. The Roomba 60 is a slightly higher-end model, but still does all of the basics as the Roomba 671, as you'd expect.

The Roomba 690 is a great robot vacuum to pick up, since it does come with support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, allowing you to use your voice to control the robot vacuum. This means you can have Alexa begin vacuuming your home, without needing to lift a finger. Of course, with the Roomba app, you'll be able to set up schedules to clean your home as well as having it start cleaning right now, or even spot clean if you made a mess. Now as far as the actual cleaning goes here, iRobot has its patented 3-Stage Cleaning System available, which is able to get up all of the dirt that might be laying around. There are also dual brushes for making sure the floor is nice and clean. When it comes to mapping your home, iRobot does create a map of your home - but it does not sell that data, even though there was a report that it did - this data is used to make sure that the robot vacuum is able to navigate your home without hitting walls, falling down stairs and so forth, as well as not missing any areas.

This item is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $119/year (or $59/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits.
