Amazon is hosting a slew of deals that are good today only, but are only good for Prime members, including this Hitachi 50-inch 4K TV, which is priced at $289. This is a great price for this TV, but you do need to be a Prime member - which you can sign up for a 30-day free trial here and still take advantage of this deal.
This TV from Hitachi is not a smart TV, it's essentially just a 4K display, which is why it's so cheap. That's likely a good thing, as proprietary software on TVs are usually pretty bad, and many people use an Android TV, or a Roku set-top box to get their favorite apps anyways, so you save some money here which is nice. Speaking of set-top boxes, there are three HDMI ports here, as well as a composite, a USB, a component and an ethernet port. So you are able to plug this directly into your router for streaming 4K movies, which is important seeing as many of these 4K movies do use a ton of data, and on slower networks, it can buffer quite a bit. This is a great TV to pick up, so if you've been looking for a new 4K TV, but don't want to spend an arm and a leg on it, then this is the time to pick one up.
This item is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $119/year (or $59/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits.
