Amazon Prime Day Will Start July 16, With Over 1 Million Deals

Amazon has announced that its Prime Day will begin July 16 at 3pm EST (12pm PST) and last through the 17th. Amazon has also announced that there will be over one million deals available during the 36 hours of Prime Day this year, as well as 50-percent more Spotlight deals. Amazon also touts that Prime members will be able to get deeper discounts than ever before on Echo and Fire TV devices, and starting today, Prime members can save $100 on the Echo Show, bringing it down to its lowest price ever.

Amazon Prime Day is an event that Amazon began a few years ago, with the intention of creating its own Black Friday, but in the summer when most people aren't spending money on Amazon and such. It has gone from being a full day of sales to being a day and a half now. While the first Prime Day was pretty mediocre, it has steadily gotten better, with last year having some incredible deals on TVs, Echo speakers and so much more. Typically, electronics get the biggest discounts, up to 45-percent. So it's a good time to pick up a smartphone, a TV or anything else. Now this is only open to Prime members, but that's okay because you can still sign up for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime and take advantage of Prime Day this year.
