LG B8 OLED 4K TVs With Google Assistant Now Available To Buy

LG's new B8 4K Ultra HD OLED smart televisions with Google Assistant are now available to buy in the US. This availability seems to have been started quietly with no official announcement from the company as of yet. Although they are now available to order directly from LG's website, as well as a number of other online retailers including Amazon and Best Buy.

The new B8 line for 2018 was first announced at the very start of the year and just ahead of CES 2018. At present, the line consists of two models which largely only differ in size. The smaller of the two is a 55-inch model which comes with a $2,299.99 price attached. The larger model is a 65-inch model and is priced at $3,299.99. However, it seems in a bid to celebrate the launch of these new TV sets, they are both currently available at a discounted price. As a result the 55-inch model is now available for $2,099.99 and $2,999.99 for the 65-inch model. Which is arguably the main selling point with these TVs as due to them being OLED TVs, these prices (specifically the $2099.99 for the 55-inch model) makes them the most affordable OLED TVs from LG on the market.

Besides the size, the difference between the two models is negligible as both are OLED TV sets and both are powered by the company's alpha (a)7 processor. In fact, this seems to be the way in which LG has managed to keep the prices lower on the B8 line as the company did announce a variety of different TV lines for 2018 back in January. With the exception of the B8 line, all of the 2018 models employ the use of the newer — and therefore, presumed better — a9 SoC. As mentioned, both also feature Google Assistant although they both are also compatible with Amazon Alexa. Further adding to their artificial intelligence (AI)-based disposition, both are LG ThinQ TVs. Providing buyers with a wealth of ways to connect to other smart home-enabled products, and just generally an increased smart experience. This is all in addition to HDR10 and Dolby Vision support, Bluetooth 4.2, 40-watt speakers, and VESA compliance.
