Blackview has just announced that Android 8.0 Oreo is ready for the Blackview BV8000 Pro. This update should be available for you OTA (Over-the-Air), though if it is not yet, it will be in the near future, as the update doesn’t hit all the Blackview BV8000 Pro units at once. Having said that, Blackview is using near-stock Android skin, so the company’s Android 8.0 Oreo build for the Blackview BV8000 Pro will resemble stock Android in a number of ways.
Now, in its press release, Blackview notes that Android 8.0 Oreo is quite similar to Android 7.0 Nougat as far as the design is concerned, and that is true, but it is more polished and comes with a number of new features. Blackview notes that you will get a considerable performance improvement after you install Android 8.0 Oreo, as that update brings an improved cache management, as it automatically deletes cached data from apps in favor of performance, if necessary. The company also lists notification shade improvements that Android 8.0 Oreo brought to the table, including two options that you get if you swipe from left to right on a specific notification. If you do that, you will be able to either mute that conversation / app for a specific amount of time, or head to settings of that app directly. Battery life should also see some improvements once you install Oreo, as Android 8.0 Oreo handles battery consumption differently than Android 7.0 Nougat.
The picture-in-picture mode is also a part of this update, and it will allow you to minimize video content to a small window that will run on top of whatever else you’re doing, though this feature needs to be enabled by developers. So, for example, you will be able to use it in Chrome. New emoji are a part of this update as well, and the same can be said for Google Play Protect, and Pinned Shortcuts feature. If you’re interested in buying the Blackview BV8000 Pro, by any chance, you can do so via the link provided down below, the device is currently discounted, and it costs only $228.79.
