Vivo X21i Announced In China With 6GB Of RAM, AMOLED Display

Vivo has just announced its new smartphone, the X21i. Rumors and leaks regarding the Vivo X21i have been surfacing non-stop for the last couple of weeks, and the phone is now official, it has been announced in Vivo’s homeland, China. The Vivo X21i is exactly what we expected, it sports the Vivo X21’s design, and a slightly upgraded spec sheet. This is a mid-range smartphone, though it belongs in the upper-mid-range category, technically.

The Vivo X21i is made out of metal and glass, it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a vertically-aligned dual camera setup on its back. The phone includes a display notch, while you’ll find all of its physical keys on the right. The Vivo X21i’s bezels are really thin, the phone does sport a rather thin “chin” below the display, though. Vivo’s branding is included on the back of this phone, and the device’s display sports rounded corners. The Vivo X21i comes with a 6.28-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) Super AMOLED display, and 4GB or 6GB of RAM. Interestingly enough, the 4GB RAM variant includes 128GB of storage, while the 6GB RAM model comes with 64GB of internal storage, while it’s usually the other way around. Both variants offer storage expansion up to 256GB, all you need is a microSD card. This handset is fueled by the MediaTek Helio P60 64-bit octa-core processor, which is one of MediaTek’s most powerful mid-range processors, if not the most powerful mid-range SoC the company has to offer.

On the back of this phone, you’ll be able to find 12-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture) and 5-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture) cameras, while a single 24-megapixel camera (f/2.0 aperture) is included on the phone’s front side. That front-facing camera is also used to scan your face, if you opt to use the phone’s face scanning feature. A 3,245mAh battery is included in this package as well, and it supports fast charging. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included as well, while the device comes with AK4376A Hi-Fi audio chip. This handset offers a hybrid dual SIM setup, it comes with two nano SIM card slots, and you can use the second SIM card slot to insert a microSD card instead of a nano SIM, and expand the phone’s storage by doing so. Android 8.1 Oreo comes pre-installed on this handset, along with Vivo’s Funtouch OS 4.0 skin. The device comes in Aurora White, Black, and Ruby Red color variants, and interestingly enough, both of these variants (4GB RAM + 128GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage) are priced the same, they both cost 2,698 Yuan ($423). The Vivo X21i is currently available for pre-order in China (source link down below), while it will go on sale on May 19.
