Samsung Pay To Offer Cash Back To Users On Select Purchases

Samsung Pay will offer consumers cash back on select purchases as a new way to offer rewards for using the service to pay for things. Samsung says that consumers will "soon" be able to reap the benefits of this new rewards feature, which could mean that it isn't quite available yet for some users and might not be for a little while longer. That said it will give current Samsung Pay users something to look forward to if the feature isn't live for them, and the rewards will be available from directly within the Samsung app according to the company so it shouldn't be any different from how users already interact with the other rewards offers.

Samsung doesn't give any specifics on all of the cash back retailers, but it does note that the retailers included will be "leading retailers." That said you can see a few of the retailers that are included as of the launch of this new feature from the screenshot below, which displays cash back on purchases made through Walmart, Groupon, and Boxed. Consumers will also get cash back on purchases from eBay, Etsy, CheapOair, Drizly, booking.com, hotels.com, Jet, and quite a few others, and it's also worth noting that the percentage of cash back that you get will vary from retailer to retailer.

For example, Boxed and Walmart will offer 5-percent cash back on select purchases while Groupon will offer 6-percent cash back, and eBay offers 1-percent cash back. The cash back rewards will also expire after a certain period of time so they won't be available to use forever, which means consumers will need to hop on them as soon as possible to take advantage of them. Cash back rewards can also be spent anywhere Samsung Pay is supported, so once a purchase is made you can essentially use it almost anywhere. Though Samsung didn't mention the full list of supported retailers for cash back rewards in its announcement, the full list is available within the Samsung Pay app, and more are likely to be added as time goes on.
