New LG QuadWash Dishwashers Have Google Assistant Support

LG Electronics has now expanded its QuadWash-branded dishwasher lineup to include steam cleaning, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa support, as well as its general SmartThinQ technology. The new dishwashers are rolling out now to retailers across the U.S. this week, the company says. It goes without saying that integration into the IoT via internet connectivity, SmartThinQ, and digital assistant support are the top new features for the 2018 range of LG dishwashers. That's because not only will each QuadWash appliance now inform users when it's done via the SmartThinQ mobile app. It'll also let users control it with their voice and start a load from anywhere. Moreover, LG may roll out performance and feature updates, as that is another common use of Wi-Fi connectivity in home appliances.

Setting that aside, the new line of QuadWash dishwashers includes the same features as the original – utilizing four angled cleaning arms instead of the usual two. LG's trademark Multi-Motion for those remains intact, allowing for water jets to hit every surface of the dishes. However, the company has gone a step further to add TrueSteam cleaning to the process. That means dishes will be more efficiently soaked, making it easier for the machine to get off anything that might be stuck to them and reducing the likeliness of water spots. In fact, the company says this new system improves the appearance of water spots by as much as 60-percent. Meanwhile, the Inverter DirectDrive motor allows for operation as quiet as 40dB and EasyRack Plus means that it's easy to customize the height of the racks between each load.

As to pricing, there are five new QuadWash dishwashers to choose from and prices go from $1,099 to $1,299. The cost seems to be mostly dependant on design, coloration, and size of the unit. For an LG QuadWash with TrueSteam Top Control Dishwasher, consumers can expect to pay $1,099 for a Stainless Steel variant, while the Black model costs $1,199. Matte Black is also available for $1,249. In the STUDIO variations of those, a Stainless Steel model is available for $1,199, while a Black Stainless Steel model costs $1,299.
