Huawei's sub-brand Honor introduced its flagship Honor 10 in China last month and then launched the phone at an event in London. In Europe, during the first day of sale for the Honor 10, stocks were depleted quickly. In Spain, it took just six hours for the phone to run out of stock while in France consumers were seemingly fond of the Phantom Blue variant where it went out of stock within a day. Honor hasn't released any information on sales numbers regarding how many units were actually purchased by consumers but it did note that around 80,000 €30 discount coupons were used, which suggests that at least 80,000 Honor 10 phones were sold.
The Honor 10 is an alternative to the Honor View 10, with updated looks and design while being a highly camera-centric device packing a 16-megapixel camera with an f/1.8 aperture and a 24-megapixel telephoto lens. There is also a 24-megapixel camera capable of full HD video recording on the front. Huawei's AI technology is heavily integrated into the camera to fine-tune the images and provide great results. The AI Camera 2.0 on the device can recognize over 500 scenarios in 12 different categories in real time. Semantic Image Segmentation technology helps the phone recognize many objects in one frame.
In terms of looks and design, the Honor 10 is similar to Huawei P20, a flagship from the parent brand. The phone comes with a 5.84-inch Full HD+ FullView display. It's powered by Huawei's Kirin 970 processor, coupled with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB storage. In terms of software, the phone runs EMUI 8.1 which is Huawei's Android UI, on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. The phone packs a 3,400mAh capacity battery, with support for fast charging through a USB Type-C port. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, with a combination of AK4376A 32-bit DAC and Huawei Histen technology to provide great sound quality over headphones. The Honor 10 is available in quite a few color variants including Glacier Grey, Midnight Black, Phantom Blue, and Phantom Green. Among these, the last two variants quite resemble the Twilight variant of the Huawei P20.
