Galaxy S8 Lite Rumored To Arrive On May 21, Renders Leak

The Samsung Galaxy S8 Lite has been rumored to arrive for a while now, the alleged device got certified by TENAA quite recently, and now, the phone’s press renders and a possible release date surfaced. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you will see a number of seemingly official Galaxy S8 Lite press renders, which show off both Red and Black variants of the phone. Having said that, a different source, a Chinese tipster known as “Ice Universe” hinted that the phone will be announced on May 21, he published the news via Weibo (Chinese social network).

As you can see, the Galaxy S8 Lite will look like the Galaxy S8, it even seems like Samsung is looking to recycle its design altogether. A fingerprint scanner will be included on the back, right next to the phone’s camera, while an LED flash will sit on the other side of that camera sensor. Samsung’s logo will be included on the back, and the device will be made out of metal and glass. Interestingly enough, only the back side of the Galaxy S8 Lite is pictured here, but the front side will probably look the same as the front side of the Galaxy S8, so we know what to expect here… unless Samsung opts to include a flat display on the front, though that’s not that likely.

Having said that, TENAA’s listing actually confirmed the Galaxy S8 Lite’s spec sheet, according to the provided info, the phone will sport a 5.8-inch fullHD+ (2280 x 1080) Infinity display, and we’re probably looking at a Super AMOLED panel here. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC is said to fuel this smartphone, while the phone will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which you’ll be able to expand using a microSD card. Android 8.0 Oreo will come pre-installed on the device, along with Samsung’s custom skin, while a 16-megapixel camera will be included on the back. An 8-megapixel camera will sit on the front side of the device, while a 3,000mAh battery will also be a part of the package, and it will support fast charging. Two SIM card slots will be included in this phone, while IP68 certification for water and dust resistance will also be included.
