The user manual of the Samsung Galaxy J6 is now available on the website of the South Korean smartphone manufacturer, having apparently been published prematurely. The manual provides new details regarding the design and software features of the upcoming Android smartphone, in addition to confirming some of the previous rumors surrounding the device. A diagram included with the documentation confirms earlier leaks that shows that the device will sport a display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. Moreover, the user manual confirms that the Galaxy J6 will not include a dedicated Bixby button, while the fingerprint scanner of the handset is located directly below the smartphone's single rear camera. The diagram also shows that the Galaxy J6 will sport a front-facing LED flash located above its display and that a headphone jack is placed at the bottom.
Despite the lack of a dedicated Bixby button, the South Korean tech giant's personal assistant will still come to the Samsung Galaxy J6. Users can access the Bixby Home app by swiping to the left on the home screen. In addition, the Samsung Pay Mini will also be supported on the Galaxy J6. This service allows users to pay their bills and purchase items online, although users will not be able to make offline payments through the Samsung Pay Mini app like they would using the regular one. Another software feature of the Galaxy J6 is the Game Launcher, which gathers the games downloaded from the Google Play Store and the Galaxy Apps Store. This feature allows users to modify the performance of the device, record game sessions, and block notifications while gaming, much like it does on other supported handsets from Samsung. Other features of the handset include face recognition and support for Dolby Atmos.
Recent leaks have already provided details regarding the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy J6; the device will reportedly be powered by the Exynos 7870 chipset, and it will likely sport a 5.6-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440 by 720 pixels. The single rear camera of the smartphone will reportedly be equipped with a 13-megapixel sensor, while the front-facing one is expected to have an 8-megapixel module. The handset will reportedly contain a 3,000mAh battery and is also almost guaranteed to ship with Android 8.0 Oreo-based Samsung Experience. The Galaxy J6 is expected to be officially announced on Tuesday, May 22.
