Blloc Smartphone Offers Monochrome UI To Help Users Focus

The Blloc smartphone is a device that claims to aid users to focus on their most important contacts and interactions. This device runs a modified version of Android 8.1 Oreo, dubbed as the Blloc OS, and this skin enables a number of features that are unique to the smartphone. Among the key features of the handset is the Root, a functionality that integrates a variety of smartphone applications, including chat apps, Uber, Spotify, and Google Maps into one timeline. Root allows users to book flights, check the weather, and answer messages in the same place, and the manufacturer further claims that with the use of machine learning, the Root feature adapts the content it's showing to the needs of the user.

Another unique software feature of the Blloc smartphone is its monochromatic user interface. Most of the content shown by the handset is in black and white, which the manufacturer claims should help reduce both the device’s power consumption and the overall time spent by the user on their smartphones. However, just in case that users will have to view images and videos, owners of the device may see the content in color by simply pressing the fingerprint sensor located at the back of the handset.

The manufacturer of the Blloc smartphone has been designing the device over the last two years, and the designers ultimately settled with a zinc alloy frame and a glass back. The smartphone is powered by the Helio P23 chipset from the Taiwanese semiconductor firm MediaTek, and it includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which could be expanded using a microSD card. The handset sports a 5.5-inch LCD IPS display with a FullHD+ resolution, while the handset's single rear camera is equipped with a 13-megapixel sensor from Sony. The rear camera can record video clips with a resolution of up to 4K. To keep its lights on, the smartphone contains a 3,100mAh-capacity battery and it supports fast charging. There is no definite date for the release of the device, although the manufacturer has already announced that deliveries will start this Fall. Users may now pre-order the phone priced at €359, which translates to about $421 at the current exchange rate.
