Avechi, an online shop which has a presence in Kenya and East Africa, has just announced the availability of a number of new smartphones, including the OnePlus 5T, Cubot X18 Plus, and Xiaomi Mi A1. Unlike most other sites, which sell Samsung, HTC, and Huawei-branded devices in Kenya and East Africa, Avechi now carries devices from Xiaomi and OnePlus, for example, which may appeal to consumers in Africa a lot more, as they are usually more affordable than devices from aforementioned brands. It is also worth noting that Avechi gives out a 1-year warranty on all smartphone brands, and the company says that you will receive your devices within three to four hours if you live in Nairobi, and 24 hours anywhere else in Kenya, after you purchase it, of course.
The OnePlus 5T is now available at Avechi in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, which come with 64GB and 128GB of storage, respectively. The OnePlus 5T is still OnePlus’ flagship handset, it is made out of metal, while it sports a 6.01-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) Optic AMOLED display. The phone comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and it comes with two rear-facing cameras. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor fuels the OnePlus 5T, while the device comes with a 3,300mAh battery, which supports Dash Charge, OnePlus’ proprietary fast charging. The OnePlus 5T’s pricing starts at KES53,499 at Avechi, in case you’re interested in getting one. The Cubot X18 Plus, on the other hand, is now also available at Avechi, and it is priced at KES16,500. The device comes with rather thin bezels, and it packs a dual camera setup on its back. The phone includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while a 4,000mAh battery is also included in the package. The Cubot X18 Plus features a 5.99-inch display, and it comes with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 is currently the only Xiaomi-branded smartphone that comes with stock Android, as it is a part of Google’s Android One project. This handset sports a 5.5-inch fullHD display, while it features 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Two 12-megapixel cameras are included on the back of the Mi A1, while a single 5-megapixel camera sits on its front side. This phone is made out of metal, and it can be your for KES22,999.
