Pre-Orders For Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco Start In India


HMD Global brought its 2018 lineup of Android smartphones to India earlier this month and assured to make them available by the end of April. Keeping its word, the company has now made the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco available for pre-orders in the country, while the Nokia 6 (2018) has been on sale for a couple of weeks. Pre-bookings for the two devices can be made through Nokia's online store and other online and offline stores HMD has partnered with. The Nokia 7 Plus will be available online exclusively from, apart from offline stores including Sangeetha, Poorvika, Big C, Croma, and Reliance Digital. On the other hand, the Nokia 8 Sirocco will be exclusive to Flipkart with the same set of offline stores as the Nokia 7 Plus. After this round of pre-orders, both the phones will go on sale on Monday, April 30.

A handful of launch offers have been announced for the customers pre-booking either of the phones. Airtel is offering an additional cashback of Rs. 2,000 ($30) with the Nokia 7 Plus, while the flagship 8 Sirocco users will get an extra 120GB of 4G data over six bill cycles. Owners of both the devices will get free access to Airtel TV until December 31, 2018, along with a 10-percent cashback for using an ICICI Bank debit or credit card and a 25-percent instant discount on MakeMyTrip. Kotak 811 customers will get 12 months of accidental damage coverage from Servify for both the Nokia Android phones. HMD Global has priced the Nokia 7 Plus at Rs. 25,999 ($394) and the Nokia 8 Sirocco at Rs. 49,999 ($757) in India.

The Nokia 7 Plus is HMD's first Android smartphone to feature a tall display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is an IPS LCD display measuring 6 inches with an FHD+ resolution. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor and has 4GB of RAM paired with 64GB of internal storage. The mid-range handset has two rear-placed cameras with ZEISS optics and has a 3,800mAh battery that can last for two days on a single charge. The Nokia 8 Sirocco is the brand's current flagship boasting the Snapdragon 835 processor and 6GB of RAM with an internal storage of 128GB. It has a 5.5-inch pOLED curved display in the conventional 16:9 aspect ratio offering a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. It shares its dual-camera setup with the Nokia 7 Plus and comes with support for wireless charging and is IP67 certified. The Nokia 8 Sirocco comes with Android 8.0 Oreo, while the Nokia 7 Plus features Android 8.1 Oreo.
