LEAGOO officially unveiled its latest premium smartphone, the LEAGOO S10, at the Global Sources Consumer Electronics trade show in Hong Kong this week. However, it was not the only device the company had on show at the event as LEAGOO was exhibiting a wide range of devices with just about something for everyone. As well as insight into how the company plans to expand going forward.
When it comes to the LEAGOO S10, this was certainly the LEAGOO star of the show as it is a smartphone equipped with a number of premium features and ones which when taken together offer more than some of the options from bigger-name companies, like Apple and Samsung. For example, not only does the LEAGOO S10 feature a triple camera setup on the rear of the device, but the front panel also includes an under-display fingerprint sensor.
LEAGOO S9 & the S9 Pro
Also on show at the event was the LEAGOO S9 and the S9 Pro. Although both of these are new phones they differ slightly in their release schedules with the S9 Pro a much newer phone after coming through on the back of the LEAGOO S9's release at MWC 2018. One of the unique selling points with the LEAGOO S9 is that it not only boasts a notch on its front display but it is also said to be capable of capturing 65-megapixel ultra-HD shots with its camera. The Pro model is not only newer but also comes with a boost in various departments including a larger display. With the standard model boasting a 5.85-inch display, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage and an octa-core processor, compared to the Pro version with its 6.18-inch display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, and an octa-core processor.
LEAGOO Power 5
Another of the smartphones on show was the LEAGOO Power 5. As the name suggests this one has been conceived to offer buyers an extended level of battery power thanks to the inclusion of a 7,000 mAh capacity battery. Resulting in a phone the company states is capable of running for up to four days without needing a charge. As for the rest of the specs, the LEAGOO Power 5 features a 5.99-inch display, 6GB RAM, 64GB storage, a dual rear camera setup, and an octa-core processor.
The LEAGOO XRover was yet another device on show and this one is a little different as it is the company's solution to those looking for a rugged smartphone. However, unlike most rugged phones the XRover has been designed with the premium market in mind. As a result this is a smartphone that in addition to a more durable build quality also features specs more akin to flagship smartphones. For example, the XRover features a 5.72-inch display, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, an octa-core processor, an IP68 certification, and a 5,000 mAh capacity battery.
While smartphones proved to be a major part of LEAGOO's attendance at the event, it is only the start of things to come. As the company did also showcase a number of its non-smartphone portfolio including tablets, all-in-one PCs, notebooks, wireless chargers, and AI speakers. The wider picture being the company's larger push into other areas which according to LEAGOO represents its forward-thinking retail strategy. LEAGOO's CEO, Mr Johnson Zhuang, was noted stating "LEAGOO New Retail aims to redefine commerce by enabling seamless engagement between the online and offline world. It's about building a retail ecosystem that blends online and offline channels in a unified way that features the consumer at the center, often in new and unexpected ways."
In other words, LEAGOO is looking to expand its presence in the market to one where it provides solutions at the ecosystem level and not just the individual product level. This also likely means consumers should expect LEAGOO to increase its product line significantly over the coming years and in some respects, in completely new directions.
