Flyme 7 Coming To 17 Meizu Handsets, More Info Released

Meizu has released more info regarding its new Flyme 7 skin, while the company also confirmed which of its phones will get the update. Before we get into it, it’s worth noting that Flyme 7 was announced along with the Meizu 15, 15 Plus and 15 Lite a couple of days ago, though back then, we did not have a lot of info about this new version of the company’s UI. Having said that, this is a Chinese version of Flyme 7 that we’re talking about, some features will be different once the update becomes available globally.

Having said that, we’ve already talked about some Flyme 7 features in our Meizu 15 and 15 Plus announcement article, but some additional features surfaced in the meantime, and we’ll talk about those now. Flyme 7 OS comes with 300 new functions, says Meizu, while the company applied 1,300 optimizations to this version of its Android skin. The company tweaked Flyme’s launcher, while Face Unlock is now also a part of the offering. Meizu claims that Face Unlock can unlock your smartphone in 0.1 seconds, and claims that it is as far as the Meizu 15’s fingerprint scanner. Meizu also said that Face Unlock is coming to other Meizu-branded smartphones via Flyme 7 update, and if you’re interested in finding out which phones exactly, we’ll talk about that a bit later. Flyme 7 also brings some new features and updates to Meizu’s camera app, AI Beauty mode has been enhanced, it will adjust itself based on your age, features and skin type. The ‘Face Backtrack’ option has also been added, using this feature, the camera will basically take several shots of your face, and will allow you to pick the best one.

The company’s OneMind AI engine has been updated to version 2.0 in Flyme 7, and it has been improved through-and-through, says Meizu. In Flyme 7, you will also be able to run apps in floating windows, while notifications have been improved as well, and the company has added new animations to Flyme’s UI. Meizu has also included ‘Night Mode’ in Flyme 7, and also an option to rescue your data from the device if you smash it and the display becomes unusable. All you have to do at that point is hook your phone to your PC, send a special message to the device, and you will trigger data recovery, which is a neat feature if you ever find yourself in that situation. Here’s a list of devices that will get the Flyme 7 update: Meizu PRO 7 Plus, PRO 7, PRO 6 Plus, PRO 6, PRO 6S, PRO 5, MX6, E3, M6 Note, M6s, M5 Note, M3 Max, M3 Note, M3x, E2, MX5, and M2 Note. Do keep in mind that the last four phones on the list will be the last ones to get the update. It’s also worth saying that Flyme 7 comes pre-installed on the Meizu 15, 15 Plus and 15 Lite.
