Deal: Amazon Fire TV for $49, Fire TV Stick for $29 - 4/9/18

Amazon has discounted its Fire TV and Fire TV Stick for $49 and $29 respectively. That's good for $20 off of each, making it a great deal for those looking for a streaming device to add to their entertainment system.

The Amazon Fire TV is the 2017 model which has 4K and HDR included, so you're going to get a pretty good picture here. The Fire TV Stick, meanwhile, does 1080p video. The main difference between the two, other than the form-factor, is the fact that the Fire TV Stick has slightly lower specs inside, and the Fire TV has better performance, particularly when playing games and such. Otherwise, both of these run on Fire TV OS, so you're getting a ton of great games and apps here. This includes the big names like Amazon Video, Google Play Movies & TV, Netflix, Hulu, DIRECTV NOW, Sling TV, HBO, Showtime and many others. So if you're looking to add some smarts to your TV, the Fire TV is definitely a good option. There are over 500,000 movies and TV episodes available on the Fire TV platform, which puts it right up there with Roku and Android TV right now. It's currently unclear how long the Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick will be on sale at this price, but it likely won't last too long, so you'd better grab it before it's gone.

This item is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $99/year (or $49/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits.
