ZTE Blade V9 Features FotoNation's Portrait Tool, DTS Sound

The ZTE Blade V9, announced at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2018, and it has just been confirmed that the phone sports imaging enhancements from Xperi Corporation's subsidiaries, FotoNation and DTS Sound. Xperi claims that the Blade V9 is the first device to be incorporated with FotoNation's portrait enhancement tool and DTS Sound's panorama solution. Additionally, the Blade V9 also features solutions from DTS Sound meant to augment stereo image, optimize sonic sound for device speakers, and provide a surround sound experience using headphones.

DTS Sound's solutions help to recover data lost after content has been compressed, enhances the bass, and provides level volume across multiple content. Additionally, FotoNation’s portrait enhancement tool is designed to provide a level of consistency in the appearance of live previews and final images. The tool also features other imaging technologies meant to smooth the skin while keeping its natural look, perform color correction, edit the lighting effects, and reduce image noise. The new features are among the third-party solutions added to the smartphone since its launch last month.

The ZTE Blade V9 debuted alongside the Blade V9 VITA at this year's MWC. The handset is made out of metal and glass. The device includes a fingerprint scanner sitting on the back and a dual rear camera setup. ZTE’s new phone is not exactly bezel-less, though this has been kept to a minimum. The Blade V9 uses navigation buttons on the screen and sports physcial keys on the right side. Spec-wise, the smartphone sports a 5.7-inch full HD with InCell display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. The phone comes in two options: 3GB and 4GB RAM variants. The 3GB RAM version is backed up with 32GB of expandable storage, while the 4GB RAM model is paired with 64GB of internal storage. The Chinese smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm-built Snapdragon 450 64-bit octa-core processor and it is juiced up by a 3,100mAh non-removable battery. On the optics side, it boasts a 16 and 5-megapixel cameras on the back, while the front-facing shooter features a single 8-megapixel lens. The phone also comes pre-installed with Android 8.1 Oreo and it will come in Black, Gold, Blue, and Gray color variants.
