Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S To Feature Wireless Charging & Dual Cameras

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be announced tomorrow, and the company’s official Weibo (Chinese social network) account has confirmed some of the phone’s features via teasers that were released recently, before the launch event. According to the company, the Mi MIX 2S will sport wireless charging and a ‘Dual AI Camera’ system, while Xiaomi once again reiterated that the device will be fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, which is something that was confirmed a while back.

Now, it is worth noting that the company’s brand ambassador, Kris Wu, shared several images of the device last week, after which the company’s CEO, Lei Jun, reshared those very same images, so we know exactly what the phone will look like. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will be quite similar to the Mi MIX 2 in terms of the design, though it seems like its bezels will be slightly thinner. The Mi MIX 2S will not sport a display notch as some leaks suggested, though a thin ‘chin’ will be present below its display. Xiaomi was expected to debut wireless charging on the Mi 7, which was expected to get announced in April, but considering that the Mi MIX 2S is coming on March 27, the Mi 7 will probably be announced later in the summer, at least that’s what rumors have been suggesting, but Xiaomi did not confirm anything just yet. Xiaomi had also mentioned the ‘Dual AI Camera’ setup, which essentially confirms that the phone will feature two cameras on the back, and the ‘AI’ part suggests that we’ll see some AI features being included here, as part of the company’s camera software in MIUI 9.

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S will probably arrive in several different variants. The company’s new flagship will probably become available in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, with different storage options, while it is also possible that the 6GB RAM variant will be made out of metal and glass, while the 8GB RAM model may sport a ceramic unibody design. The Mi MIX 2S is expected to ship with a 5.99-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display, while we’ll see at least a 3,400mAh battery pack on the inside of this phone.
