X-Doria Launches Samsung Galaxy S9, S9 Plus Protective Cases

Smartphone accessory maker X-Doria announced a number of new protective cases meant to accommodate the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, Samsung's most premium Android handsets to date. The company's newly unveiled offerings come in the form of the X-Doria Defense Shield and X-Doria Defense Lux lineups, both of which are available in a variety of colors and sold for both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. The products are meant to succeed the Defense Shield and Defense Lux cases X-Doria launched for all of Samsung's 2017 flagships and largely offer the same capabilities while retaining their price tags. The Defense Shield lineup is hence priced at $29.99, whereas a single Defense Lux accessory will set consumers back $34.99.

The more affordable product series offers machined aluminum outer frame surrounding soft rubber bumper meant to cushion impact and protect Samsung's Android smartphones from falls, with the cases still having a clear polycarbonate back that provides a relatively unobstructed view at the rear panel of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, hence continuing the lineup's tradition of delivering a substantial level of protection without hiding the design of Samsung's products. The anodized aluminum frame of the Defense Shield cases is available in Black, Iridescent, and Red color options, with the accessories also promising to redirect the bottom speaker's output to the front and enhance one's listening experience. The overall design of the case should allow it to easily snap onto the device and be pulled away from it, X-Doria claims.

The Defense Lux products present a similar proposition, albeit one that largely hides the back sides of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus, with the lineup itself being available in a range of unique colors - Black Leather, Black Carbon Fiber, and Purple Ballistic Nylon. The styles are meant to boast an even more premium feel that dovetails with the high-end nature of Samsung's newest Android flagships. All four cases are already available for purchase on Amazon, whereas the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will be officially released this Friday, though pre-orders already started shipping to consumers in most parts of the world several days back.
