TP-Link Launches Neffos N1 With Two Rear Cameras, Helio P25

Device maker TP-Link has launched its newest smartphone offering in the form of the Neffos N1. The phone sports a metal unibody construction and is equipped with a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels. The screen is protected from scratches by a sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Above the display, users can find the front-facing selfie shooter and an earpiece, while the capacitive navigation buttons are unsurprisingly placed near the bottom of the handset. The dual rear cameras of the device are located near the upper right corner of the back panel, and directly beside the shooters is an LED flash. Also located on the rear panel is a fingerprint scanner, which is capable of unlocking the device within 0.2 seconds, according to the device maker. The images released by the tech company show that the bottom of the handset contains a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Neffos N1 is powered by the Helio P25 chipset from Taiwanese semiconductor firm MediaTek. The SoC is comprised of an octa-core ARM Cortex A53 CPU running at a maximum clock speed of 2.6GHz and the Mali-T880 MP2 GPU. The smartphone includes 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal flash storage, which can be expanded using a microSD card by up to 128GB. In addition, the handset can accept two SIM cards at the same time, and it can connect to Wi-Fi networks running on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. The dual rear cameras of the handset are equipped with one 12-megapixel RGB sensor and one 12-megapixel monochrome snapper. The rear cameras support Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), have a pixel size of 1.25-micrometers, and an aperture size of f/2.0. Meanwhile, the front-facing selfie shooter has an 8-megapixel sensor and an 86-degree lens. The tech firm also noted that users may choose among ten different levels of beautification. Keeping the lights on is a 3,260mAh battery with fast charging support.

The Neffos N1 ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, although TP-Link's proprietary skin NFUI 7.0 runs on top of Google's operating system. Right now, the handset is available in Malaysia through online retailer Lazada. The Neffos N1 is priced at RM1,099, which translates to $281 at the current exchange rate.
