Sharp Unveils AQUOS S3 Mini With 6GB Of RAM, Small Notch


Sharp has just announced a new AQUOS-branded smartphone, the AQUOS S3 Mini. This handset has been listed on a website of one of China's largest online stores, JingDong Mall, better known as Having said that, the Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini is a mid-range smartphone, but it does come with quite a compelling spec sheet, and an interesting design, as it adopts an Essential PH-1-like notch on its display, and rather thin side and top bezels.

The Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini does come with a 'chin' below the display, and that bezel is quite thick, actually. The company's logo is placed right below the phone's display, and the device utilizes on-screen buttons. All the physical keys are included on the right-hand side of the phone, while the AQUOS S3 Mini comes with a single camera on the back, below which you will notice an LED flash. The Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini is made out of metal and glass, while the phone features a 5.5-inch fullHD+ (2040 x 1080) display. This handset also comes with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. A 16-megapixel snapper (f/2.0 aperture) is included on the back of this phone, while a 20-megapixel shooter sits on the phone's front side. The device sports a 3,020mAh non-removable battery, and 5V/2A charging. You will recharge this handset using a Type-C USB port which is included on the bottom of the device, while the Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini also offers facial recognition technology.

A single speaker is included in this smartphone, and we're looking at a bottom-firing unit here. There are two SIM card slots included in the Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini as well, two nano SIM card slots, while the device supports both TD-LTE and FDD-LTE bands (specific ones, for China). Qualcomm's Snapdragon 630 64-bit octa-core processor fuels the Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini, while Android 7.1.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the phone. The Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini is currently listed in a Black color only, while it measures 142.7 x 73 x 7.8mm, and weighs 140 grams. The phone is not yet available for purchase, but it will be soon, and it costs 1,599 Yuan ($253).
