New UMIDIGI One Render Shows Notch & Side-Mounted Fingerprint Sensor

New renders said to be of the UMIDIGI One have now surfaced online. This is a device that had already been shown off in a promotional image although the previous one focused on the rear of the device. In contrast, these latest renders above and below provide a very clear view of the front of the device and in turn highlight some of the key design points on offer with the UMIDIGI One.

For example, providing the renders do accurately depict the final product, then it would seem the UMIDIGI One will be another Android phone that arrives equipped with a notch positioned at the top of the front panel. MWC 2018 took place last week and this was one of the common trends at the event with a number of manufacturers announcing devices touting a notch. By the looks of it, the UMIDIGI One will be clearly following the same trend with its One smartphone boasting an identical looking front panel. Although, that is not all. As the image also clearly highlights that in spite of the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor it will not be located in the usual place. Instead, the fingerprint sensor will be embedded in the power button located on the right-hand side of the device. Likely a design decision which has come about due to the inclusion of an all-screen design.

Along with the previous leak - highlighting the back of the device - came the suggestion the UMIDIGI One will come with support for a much wider number of LTE bands and specifically showing support for US compatible LTE bands. Therefore, the suggestion is the UMIDIGI One is likely to arrive in the US at some point. Support for a US arrival was further seen by the confirmation from the company of the phone having received its CE and FCC certifications. Other than that, it is expected the display will not only be an all-screen display, but one that measures 5.9-inches in size, and boasting curved edges. The back of the phone is expected to be largely glass-based, and therefore, like the notch, similar to the iPhone X. At present, there are no firm details on when the UMIDIGI One will be launched.
