Deal: Huawei Mate SE Unlocked Android Smartphone for $229 - 3/5/18

Amazon currently has the Huawei Mate SE on sale for just $229. That's good for $20 off of its regular price, and is also its first price drop since it went on sale a few months ago. It is available in both grey and gold at this price point as well.

The Huawei Mate SE is basically a slightly upgraded Honor 7X, which is $199 itself. The Mate SE sports a 5.93-inch display with a 18:9 aspect ratio, it's powered by a 2.36GHz octa-core processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage along with a micro SD Card slot. This also sports a dual-camera setup, with a 16-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor. That secondary sensor is mostly there for collecting depth data, so that you can get even better pictures than you would get with just the one camera sensor. Finally, the device is powered by a non-removable 3340mAh battery, which should keep the device powered all day long. And if it doesn't, it does support Huawei's own fast charging, so you'll be able to recharge it in a little over an hour, using the wall charger that is included in the box. Definitely a good thing, for those that are pretty heavy users. On the software side, there's Android 8.0 Oreo along with the latest version of EMUI - Huawei's own software skin.

This item is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $99/year (or $49/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits.
