August Hands Out Free 24-Hour Video Storage To Users

August is handing out free 24-hour video storage to its users of the August Doorbell Cam and Doorbell Cam Pro, though there is one caveat - getting that free 24 hours of video storage will require a subscription to the company's basic August Video Recording service. The good news, is that the basic subscription doesn't cost anything either, so unless you need or want more than 24 hours of storage for any videos that are recorded by the Doorbell Cam or Doorbell Cam Pro, then you won't have an extra monthly bill to contend with or remember to pay along with all your other bills.

That said, you can upgrade to the premium plan in either a monthly set or an annual set, offered at prices of $4.99 a month or $49.99 per year respectively. Moving up to the premium plan from the free basic option will net owners of the Doorbell Cam and Doorbell Cam Pro 30 days of video storage for all the footage, which might be a little more suitable for anyone who wants to keep and access as much of the video recording as possible.

This should be accessible to anyone who already owns either of August's video doorbells but will also come automatically with both of them for new customers too, so if you were considering getting one of these for your own home, now you'll get to store a day's worth of recorded video footage at no additional cost. This is great for consumers, because the video doorbells are infinitely more useful when you can store and play back some of those recordings as opposed to only having access to the video footage in real-time when you're able to see and interact with someone at the door in the moment. Any video recording footage that is captured and stored for the 24-hour period can be found inside of the August Home application which you'll install on your smartphone to help you get the Doorbell Cam and Doorbell Cam Pro connected up to your home Wi-Fi network. August believes that video recording is an important feature to have on these sorts of devices, and the company saw fit to finally offer it up at no charge so that anyone who purchases one of the Doorbell Cam models will have access to it.
