After briefly appearing as a Flipkart exclusive in India and making an appearance in several other markets, Honor's latest premium budget handset is reportedly headed to Carphone Warehouse. Specifically, the device in question is the Honor 9 Lite but the smartphone still hasn't made its way to the retailer's online web page and a search of the site returns no results, as of this writing. With that said, it should be made available in the very near future via the button below. Of course, that means that pricing and other information for the Honor 9 Lite being sold through the site is also not available. Bearing that in mind, the cost for the Honor 9 Lite has ranged from around $188 in India to $278 depending on the region, so it stands to reason that it will be similarly priced when it does hit the site. It is also known that it will be sold unlocked and SIM-free, so it should work on any carrier whose bands are supported by the smartphone's network radios.
In the meantime, the Honor 9 Lite has been sold in three different configurations and each would be difficult for other devices in its price range to beat. For starters, the sole difference between the devices has been in terms of storage and memory. They each share Huawei's HiSense-built Kirin 659 processor and are powered by a non-removable 3,000mAh battery. The high-end variation ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage while both other variants ship with 32GB of storage and pack in either 3GB or 4GB of RAM. It isn't immediately clear which configuration will be available through Carphone Warehouse or if the site will sell all three. Aside from those specifications, the Honor 9 Lite features a 5.65-inch FHD+ display set in the modern standard 18:9 aspect ratio. The device ships with Android 8.0 Oreo onboard and includes support for Project Treble for a better firmware update schedule.
That's squeezed into a frame with minimal bezels and a dual-camera on both front and back. The main camera in both arrays is built around a 13-megapixel sensor that's backed up by a 2-megapixel sensor for bokeh effects and depth sensing. Honor has offered its device in black, silver, or blue at various stages since its initial release back in December. Unfortunately, determining which of those colors will be made available through Carphone Warehouse is yet another piece of information that can't be ascertained yet.
