O2 Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus pre-orders have gone live, and are currently ready for those looking to place their orders as soon as possible. O2 says the pre-orders are available online but it doesn’t state that they’re not available in O2 retail stores, so anyone looking to place those orders in person may want to double check with the closest store.
O2 will have three of the four colors available for the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus that Samsung has produced, which include the Coral Blue, the Midnight Black, and the Lilac Purple. When it comes to prices, the Galaxy S9 will end up costing O2 customers a base price of £44 a month. O2 doesn’t mention what the full retail cost will be or how many monthly payments of £44 there will be, but consumers will have an upfront cost to pay attention to as well and this will be £209.99. There is also an option for £89.99 up front, but then the monthly payments will increase to £49, so the trade-off is paying a higher monthly payment to save some upfront cost.
The Galaxy S9 Plus will be much the same in term of having multiple payment options, starting with the upfront cost of £209.99, with a monthly cost of £49. The good news here is that the upfront down payment of the Galaxy S9 Plus is no higher than the Galaxy S9 even if the monthly payment is higher, which likely bodes well for O2 subscribers. In addition, the upfront cost can also be brought down to £89.99 with a monthly cost of £54 to account for the cheaper down payment. While O2 isn’t doing any sort of bundles with the phone it seems, it is guaranteeing that any subscribers who pre-order the device before March 8 will get the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus a full week before the general public, meaning they should up on doorsteps well before March 16. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will come with new features like Bixby Translate, and AKG-tuned stereo speakers that have support for Dolby Atmos, as well as 12-megapixel cameras, and the latest Android software with Samsung’s most recent Experience UI.
