It seems like Huawei is planning to launch some new tablets in the near future, as Roland Quandt shared some info regarding those tablets on Twitter. The tipster actually mentioned that three Huawei-branded tablets are on the way, the Huawei MediaPad M5 8, MediaPad M5 10 and MediaPad M5 10 Pro. Mr. Quandt also shared some info regarding all of these tablets, which is something we’ll talk about in a minute, but before that, it’s worth noting that these three tablets may actually launch during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, even though nothing has been confirmed just yet. One thing is for sure, though, the Huawei P20 and P20 Plus will not make an appearance at MWC 2018, those two handsets will become official on March 27 in Paris.
Having said that, the Huawei MediaPad M5 8 is codenamed ‘Schubert’ (SHT-xxx), says Mr. Quandt, and this will be the most affordable MediaPad M5 tablet, it seems, while it will sport an 8-inch display. The device will ship with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, while its Wi-Fi only model will cost €329. A 4G LTE model of the MediaPad M5 will set you back €380, if Mr. Quandt’s info is accurate. The Huawei MediaPad M5 10 is second in line, and it is codenamed ‘Cameron’ (CMR-xxx). This tablet will also arrive with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage, though it will sport a larger, 10-inch display. This device’s Wi-Fi model will go for €379, while its 4G LTE variant will cost €420. The Huawei MediaPad M5 10 Pro, which comes with the ‘Cameron Pro’ codename, is the most powerful MediaPad M5 tablet it seems. This device will include 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, while it will support M-Pen stylus, though we still do not know if that stylus will ship with the device or not. The device will be available in a 4G LTE variant only, and will cost €520. That is more or less all the info that the source shared thus far.
Now, it’s worth noting that two MediaPad M5 variants actually surfaced on Geekbench earlier this month, and the source’s newly-provided info only confirms part of those listings. All of the Huawei MediaPad M5 tablets will probably ship with Android 8.0 Oreo with the company’s Emotion UI (EMUI) skin on top of it, in case you were wondering. MWC 2018 starts later this month, and it remains to be seen if any of these tablets will make an appearance there, stay tuned.
