Earlier this month, Essential had introduced three new color variants of its first, and only smartphone, the Essential PH-1. The company had introduced Ocean Depths, Stellar Gray and Copper Black color variants, and luckily for those of you who would like to check them out in real-life pics, Essential brought all of those color options to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona. We've managed to get some hands-on time with each of the three models, and as a result, you will find quite a few images in the gallery down below. It is worth noting that these new color options for the Essential PH-1 cost $100 more than the phone's initial variants, Black Moon and Pure White, both of which are still available for purchase. These new color options are priced at $599 in the US.
All three of these colors are already available for purchase in the US, and Essential said that they're more expensive than Black Moon and Pure White color because of the process which was necessary to apply different colors on the ceramic backplate. The Essential PH-1 is, as many of you probably already know, made out of titanium and ceramic, it comes with a frame made out of titanium, and a ceramic backplate. As far as the design is concerned, these new color options are completely identical to the initial variants of the phone, there's no change whatsoever. That being said, the Essential PH-1 sports really thin bezels all around, though it does come with a notch at the top of the display, which is considerably thinner than the one on the iPhone X, for example. All of the phone's physical keys are placed on the right side of the device, while you will notice magnetic connectors on the back of the device, where you can attach the company's 360 camera, if you buy it.
The Essential PH-1 is heavier than most modern flagships, thanks to its build materials, but it's also smaller than most of them. The device weighs 185 grams, while it measures 141.5 x 71.1 x 7.8mm. This handset is fueled by the Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is Qualcomm's flagship SoC for last year. The device also includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable storage. A 3,040mAh non-removable battery is also a part of this package (fast charging included), while you will find two 13-megapixel cameras on the back of the device. An 8-megapixel snapper is included on the phone's front side, while the device also offers stereo speakers. Essential has also included Bluetooth 5.0 in the Essential PH-1, while a Type-C port lies on the bottom of the device. The Essential PH-1's availability is quite limited, it is available in the US, in all colors variants, while some colors are available in Canada. The phone is not available in Europe at all, and the same goes for Asia. Essential did say, about half a year ago, that the device will arrive to Europe, but that has not happened since today, though it might following the phone's showcasing at MWC 2018.
