Elephone had introduced the Elephone U and Elephone U Pro smartphones quite recently, and as part of the promotional campaign for the two devices, the company wanted to share its top six reasons why you should purchase one of these two smartphones. Before we start talking about those, it’s worth noting that the two phones are quite similar, they look the same, though their specs are a bit different, as they’re fueled by different processors (amongst other spec differences), and the Elephone U Pro comes with more features.
The first feature of the Elephone U and U Pro that the company wanted to highlight, is the display. The Elephone U and U Pro come with the same 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) flexible AMOLED display, which is curved on the sides, similar to Samsung’s more modern Galaxy S-line products. Elephone claims that the Elephone U and U Pro are the third and fourth smartphones in the world which come with such a display, and their display is being produced by BOE. Elephone also highlights that AMOLED displays tend to drain the battery less, and that they also offer punchier colors in comparison to LCD displays. The second reason Elephone listed, is the Elephone U Pro’s Snapdragon processor. The Elephone U Pro uses the Snapdragon 660 64-bit octa-core SoC, which is Qualcomm’s mid-range chip, but it’s quite powerful nonetheless. This chip has been made using a 14nm manufacturing process, and in combination with an AMOLED display, it should provide great battery life.
The design of these two smartphones is also something that Elephone listed. The Elephone U and U Pro are made out of metal and glass, you will basically get a metallic frame stuck in-between two sheets of glass, which is nothing new, but thanks to that curved display, and a curved back, the phone does look quite sleek. Elephone also notes that the company’s logo on the back of the device is also an LED notification indicator / light. Amongst its reasons to purchase one of these two smartphones, Elephone also noted 13-megapixel dual cameras which are included on both smartphones. Both of these come with Arcsoft’s image-processing algorithms, and Elephone claims that both phones are able to provide really nice images in pretty much every condition.
Charging is yet another reason Elephone listed, and it’s worth noting that the Elephone U Pro supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge fast charging (15W charging), but also wireless charging, which is a feature that is not available in the Elephone U. In any case, you should be able to quickly recharge the Elephone U Pro, you should be able to get it from 0 to 100-percent in way less than 2 hours. Now, the last reason Elephone listed is RAM, and storage, actually, as both phones have plenty of both, the Elephone U comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while the Elephone U Pro ships with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. We are looking at LPDDR4X RAM here, which is being used in a number of other flagship devices. If you’re interested in purchasing either of these two phones, click the link / banner down below.
