Ceramic Edition Elephone U Pro Coming, Image Available

Elephone has just announced that it is planning to release a ceramic variant of the Elephone U Pro. Elephone had listed both the Elephone U and U Pro on its website quite recently, after teasing the two devices for weeks. Both phones will become available for purchase in the near future, and if you’re interested, you can still reserve a unit, all you have to do is visit the company’s website and follow the instructions.

Now, regarding the ceramic variant of the Elephone U Pro, the company did release an image of the device, a real life image, which you can check out above this article. As you can see, its back side is quite reflective, and considering that ceramic is heavier than glass, the phone will be slightly heavier than the Elephone U Pro. The Elephone U and Elephone U Pro actually look the same, but they do differ in terms of specs. Both of these phones sport a dual camera setup on the back, with a fingerprint scanner placed below those two cameras. Thin bezels are also a part of the package, and the Elephone U and U Pro sport both a curved back and a curved front. Now, we’re not talking about curved glass here, but a curved display, as both of these handsets come with curved, flexible AMOLED panels. Both phones sport a 5.99-inch fullHD+ (2160 x 1080) display, while you will find two 13-megapixel snappers on the back of both the Elephone U and U Pro. It’s also worth noting that Elephone worked with ArcSoft, a company whose algorithm is expected to improve images that these two phones can take.

Both devices feature what Elephone calls ‘Sidebar Interaction Technology’, and even though we’re still not 100-percent sure what that is, chances are that it will offer some special features when you swipe the phone’s sides, maybe some special gestures will be a part of the package. Face Unlock is present on both phones, both devices comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of native storage, and that’s where similarities end. The Elephone U is fueled by the Helio P23 SoC, while its sibling comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660. The Elephone U does not sport wireless charging, while that is not the case with the Elephone U Pro. The ‘Pro’ variant will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo, while the regular model will get that update later on, as it sports Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
