The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) were announced last month, but they were not made available straight away, well, the Galaxy A8 (2018) is now available in Europe, the Netherlands, to be more exact. The Netherlands is the first European country to officially start selling the Galaxy A8 (2018), as the phone is currently both listed and available directly from the company’s official website.
Now, the fact that the device is available in the Netherlands, only means that other European countries will be getting the phone in the near future as well, though we do not know what countries exactly, you’ll have to wait in order to find out. Having said that, the Galaxy A8 (2018) is actually rather expensive in the Netherlands, as it is priced at €500 in the country, and this is supposed to be the company’s mid-range offering. The device can be purchased in Black, Gray, and Gold color variants in the country, the only color option that is missing here is Blue, which was also announced last month. Now, as most of you probably already know, the Galaxy A8 (2018), and its sibling, the Galaxy A8 Plus (2018) are the first two non-flagship Galaxy-branded phones to sport Infinity displays, and that has allowed Samsung to trim down bezels on these two phones quite a bit. The Galaxy A8 (2018) not only sports really thin bezels, but it’s also made out of metal and glass, just like the company’s flagship devices. The display on this smartphone sports rounded corners, while the phone is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
This handset sports a 5.6-inch fullHD+ (2220 x 1080) Super AMOLED Infinity display (18.5:9 aspect ratio), while this variant comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of native storage. It’s worth noting that the company also announced a variant with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, but that model is not available in the Netherlands, it seems. The device is fueled by the Exynos 7885 64-bit octa-core processor, and it comes with a 3,000mAh non-removable battery which supports fast charging. Bluetooth 5.0 is included here, while you will find a 16-megapixel snapper (f/1.7 aperture) on the back of this phone. 16 and 8-megapixel shooters are included on the front side of the Galaxy A8 (2018), while the phone ships with Android 7.1.1 Nougat, with Samsung’s custom UI on top of it.
