Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red Variant Launches In India

The Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red handset had launched in Indonesia last week, and the device has just arrived to India as well. The Xiaomi Mi A1 was originally announced back in September as the company’s very first Android One smartphone, and it originally arrived in Black, Gold and Rose Gold color variants. The phone went on sale in India last month, in November, and a special edition variant of the device just landed as well.

Having said that, the only difference between this model and the regular Xiaomi Mi A1 handset lies in the red color, everything else is the same, including the overall design and specifications that are included on the inside. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is made out of metal, it sports a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, and a dual camera setup on the back. The phone also comes with a set of capacitive buttons, and its back side is slightly curved on the sides. The phone sports a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) display with a 2.5D curved glass on top of it. The Xiaomi Mi A1 ships with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of native storage, while the phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 625 64-bit octa-core processor. A 3,080mAh non-removable battery is also included in this package, while you will find two 12-megapixel shooters on the back of this smartphone, while a 5-megapixel snapper is included on the phone’s front side. You can expand the phone’s storage up to 128GB via a microS car, while the phone ships with stock Android 7.1.2 Nougat out of the box, but Android 8.0 Oreo is on the way.

An IR blaster is placed at the very top of this phone, and the device also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack. 4G LTE with VoLTE is also supported by the Xiaomi Mi A1, and the phone also offers Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity. The Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition Red variant will go on sale in India starting on December 20, but do keep in mind that it will be available in limited quantities. The phone will be available through Flipkart and Mi.com, as far as online availability is concerned, and it will cost you Rs. 13,999 ($218) in order to get it. Having said that, the phone will also be available via Mi Home stores, Mi Preferred Partners stores, and retail partner stores in India.
