IGG has now revealed that with 90 million players around the world, its Lords Mobile title remains one of the top mobile games of 2017. That's following the games initial entry near the top of the charts starting back in 2016. In fact, as of June and in more than 21 countries, the company says the title has been in the top 5 on Android while it has remained in the top 10 in more than 66 countries. Moreover, it has been a featured title on the Google Play Store more than 8 times in 2017. IGG credits the success of Lords Mobile to aggressive marketing, at just below 25 percent of the company's cash flow, which allows the firm to continue bringing new players into the game. That has been helped, according to IGG, by relatively frequent updates to the title, with the most recent being the Familiar Update which allowed players to capture monsters and turn them into familiars.
For those who aren't already aware, Lords Mobile is an open-world real-time strategy MMO for Android and iOS that drops players into a fantasy world where they can battle monsters and other enemies while establishing their own kingdom. Players recruit and upgrade heroes to take on an RPG campaign or use them as Emperors to protect and grow their own kingdom. As in any other MMO, players can also chat, create alliances, or go to battle with friends and enemies around the world. There are several different tactics and strategies to choose from, in addition to the game featuring several kingdom servers to play on, keeping the experience fresh for long-time players. The game also features 3D animated battle sequences, as well as building and resource management.
It almost goes without saying that for any application to hold onto to its position as one of the most popular mobile offerings for two years is an accomplishment for any developer. Doing that while maintaining a rating north of 4.5 stars from nearly 2 million reviews and over 50 million downloads is better still. Best of all, aside from in-app purchases, Lords Mobile is also completely free to download and play. So anybody interested in seeing what all of the hype is about can do so in a matter of minutes by referring to the Google Play Store banner below.
