Google's Chromecast Returns To Amazon After A Long Break

Google's Chromecast is returning to Amazon after a long break. For those who are unaware, Amazon previously banned the sale of Chromecast devices on its digital retailer platform for the past two years, so those who wanted to get a hold of one had to find one elsewhere. Now it appears that Amazon has officially brought the Chromecast family of products back into the fold and they can be found on Amazon's website by hitting the buttons below. That said it doesn't look like they're actually on sale yet as Amazon has them listed as currently unavailable.

There is no time frame mentioned for when these will be back in stock on Amazon's website, but you can sign up to be notified when they're available as is always the case with out of stock products through the retailer. It's also worth noting that Amazon only has the 2nd Gen. Chromecast and the Chromecast Ultra listed, so that means no possibility of getting the first model of the Chromecast though there's no reason why you should want to given the second model is an improvement in every way.

Amazon has reportedly confirmed that the sales of the Chromecast devices were going to resume, and sure enough the listing pages for each item officially went live earlier this morning. While the sales of both the Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra haven't technically begun as both are currently unavailable, Amazon apparently stated that consumers should be able to place orders for them shortly. That said the company hasn't mentioned when exactly, so it could be sometime later on today or it could be sometime later on this week. Or it could be next week. Chances are that Amazon may intend to give people just enough time to order both the Chromecast and Chromecast Ultra for them to arrive by the holidays. This would give people enough time to wrap them and get them under the tree. If you're planning on picking up one or both of these items for someone special this year, Amazon seems to have you covered now, at least it will if it puts these up for sale in time to take advantage of the Prime two-day shipping.
