Google Outs A '12 Days Of Play' Android App And Movie Sale

Google is celebrating the holidays with a new 12 Days of Play sale, having just discounted a wide variety of Android apps, games, movies, TV shows, and music on the Google Play Store. The promotional period runs until January 2nd and while it isn't available on a global level, consumers in most countries should be able to take advantage of it. As far as games are concerned, a number of high-profile titles are now up to 80 percent off, with the likes of Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two and Need for Speed: Most Wanted being available for a buck, much like Framed 2. The newly launched sale also encompasses numerous in-app purchases in popular games like Pokemon GO, Clash Royale, and Clash of Clans, with some developers even deciding to commemorate the holidays by delivering time-limited content. You'll hence be able to use a Santa Spell in Clash of Clans and catch a Christmas edition of Pikachu in Pokemon GO, the very same one that originally appeared at this time last year.

On the movie and TV side of things, you're once again able to rent three episodes from any TV show or borrow a movie of your choice for just 99 cents. If you're not an HBO Now subscriber, you can take advantage of a steep 50 percent discount on the first three months of the service, so long as you register for it through Google. The Mountain View, California-based tech giant once again strengthened its Google Play Music incentives and is now offering a four-month free trial of the popular streaming service, thus tying the length of its best promotion to date. An ad-free yearly subscription on TuneIn is presently 40 percent off, making this particular app the currently most compelling offering in the Android radio segment. An identical discount is attached to a Lifesum subscription, with the sale also covering hundreds of other apps, both subscription-based and otherwise.

Finally, the promotional period comes with $5 in credit you can put toward any eBook sold on the company's digital marketplace, so long as its price is north of that figure. A number of best-sellers from established authors like Dean Koontz, E. L. James, and even Facebook's COO Sheryl Sandberg are also on sale. Refer to the Google Play Store banner below to access its Holiday Hub for more details on all of this year's holiday discounts for Android users.
