100 GeForce NOW & SHIELD TV Games Are On Sale

NVIDIA's SHIELD TV is the most graphically powerful Android device out there, and now 100 different games that take full advantage of that raw horsepower are on special sale for the holidays. The sale runs through December 26, and you'll see some games with prices slashed as much as 90 percent. Big names in game development are in on this deal, including Konami, Double Fine, and TellTale. As a bonus, the hardware itself will run $30 less than normal no matter which package you choose, meaning that you'll pay only $149 for the remote-only version, or $169 for a version that includes the controller, if you buy through NVIDIA's website. Additionally, you can find a package deal with the remote-only variant and a USB-enabled Samsung SmartThings link for $169.98, a full $50 off the normal price, as a Best Buy exclusive during the sale period.

Borderlands 2, BioShock 2 Remastered, The Surge, and Yooka-Laylee are just a few of the bigger names included in the sale on the GeForce NOW side of things. All of these will run on powerful PCs in the cloud and be streamed to your device, and they all sport price cuts of 50 percent or better. The selection of Android games on offer that will run on Shield TV hardware is a bit more vast, and the discounted titles include a number of big names and console ports. Both Ys games available are 50 percent off, for example, and all Telltale games, including hit series like Batman and The Wolf Among Us, are all 60 percent off. Other big titles on sale include both available Oddworld games, Wayward Souls, and Death Road To Canada. A few prominent titles are absent from the sale, such as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, Street Fighter X Tekken, and Lego Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

It bears mentioning that buying Android games through NVIDIA's website directly will only allow you to play them on the SHIELD TV and a small list of other compatible NVIDIA-branded devices. Some of the games on sale are actually sold through the Google Play Store, which means that you can enjoy them on your TV and on the go. GeForce NOW games, on the other hand, are available only on SHIELD TV, since the service is built uniquely for NVIDIA's specialized hardware.
