The UMIDIGI S2 Pro is one of two smartphones recently announced by the company. With this one sporting the ‘Pro’ moniker it is one which can be understood as the more premium of the two devices, although a number of the specs remain common to both models. While this is an already-announced smartphone, this week UMIDIGI started teasing an announcement which seems to be taking place next week and is related to the UMIDIGI S2 Pro.
The current teaser does not provide any firm details on what will be announced other than confirming that the announcement will come through on November 8. The teaser seems to have originated yesterday with the image above showing the “7” in the background. So it stands to reason that with yesterday being November 1 - a week before the announcement - UMIDIGI is planning a seven-day countdown of teasers until the announcement date is reached. So it should be expected that more teasers will come through in due course. The timing of this tease does seem to be in line with when the UMIDIGI S2 Pro is expected to be officially released and made available to buy, so it is likely that this is to do with the full release of the phone. Although more details confirming this and/or any other surprises will likely become clearer as the days tick by.
As for the phone itself, with the UMIDIGI S2 Pro having already been officially announced, all of the major specs and features on offer are already known. The big selling point with the UMIDIGI S2 Pro is that it is a bezel-less display. Which is another aspect shown off in this latest teaser. The display measures in at 6-inches and adopts the use of a 2160 x 1080 resolution as well as an 18:9 aspect ratio. Inside, the UMIDIGI S2 Pro comes loaded with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor. Cameras are another notable feature as the UMIDIGI S2 Pro is loaded with a real dual camera setup spearheaded by a 13-megapixel primary camera, and backed up by a 5-megapixel secondary camera. Additional features include a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 5,100 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor, and Android 7.0 (Nougat).
