The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is apparently a huge hit in Western Europe, as the company just announced that pre-orders for the handset have surpassed its target by more than 100 percent. As of now, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro holds the new record for smartphone pre-orders in the region, dethroning the Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is a powerful flagship with a sleek design and a slew of smart features powered by artificial intelligence. The smartphone sparked positive reviews and the new pre-order record in Western Europe now proves that it’s off to a strong start, just little over a month since it went for pre-order in Europe on October 16.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro has similar specs to the Huawei Mate 10, but sports a sleeker design with slimmer bezels around the display, and has a rear-facing fingerprint scanner as opposed to the front-facing one of the Mate 10, located below the display. In terms of hardware specifications, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro features a 6-inch OLED HDR display with a full HD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels, with Gorilla Glass 5 on top for extra durability and scratch-resistance. Unde the hood, the handset packs an in-house, AI-fueled Kirin 970 64-bit octa-core SoC, considered to be one of the most powerful processors currently on the market.
The Huawei Mate 10 Pro further comes with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of native storage space, and a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 12-megapixel RGB sensor and a 20-megapixel monochrome one. The cameras have Leica lenses, dual-tone flash, dual-LED, and laser autofocus. On the front, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel selfie cam. The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is also 30 percent more power-efficient than the Mate 10, thanks to its 4,000mAh battery with SuperCharge technology, which can fuel the smartphone from 0 to 58 percent in just half an hour. Other features include IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, NFC, 4.5G LTE connectivity, and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with support for Wi-Fi Direct. The smartphone ships with Android 8.0 Oreo on board out of the box, with Huawei’s own EMUI 8.0 on top. According to Huawei, the Mate 10 Pro sparked unprecedented reactions since its debut in Western Europe, driving strong demand even before it went on sale. Pre-order customers also received a free Moleskine Smart Writing Set, which may have contributed to the smartphone’s pre-order success.
