Xiaomi had introduced its Mi MIX 2 flagship last month, alongside the Mi Note 3, and it seems like the Mi MIX 2 will be heading to India soon. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 was originally announced in China, and the company has just officially confirmed, via its Mi India official Twitter page, that the Mi MIX 2 will be announced in India on October 10. The press event will be hosted in New Delhi, and Xiaomi right out said that the Mi MIX 2 will be announced, while the company also shared an image of the phone, so there’s no mystery here, the Mi MIX 2 is coming to India.
Xiaomi is actually one of the top smartphone manufacturers in China, the company has been able to sell quite a few smartphones in that Asian country this year, and that’s saying a lot considering that India is the second largest smartphone market in the world, and is trumped only by China. Having said that, Xiaomi introduced two different variants of the Mi MIX 2 in China, the regular model is made out of ceramic and glass, while the special edition variant comes with a ceramic unibody build. We’re still not sure whether Xiaomi plans to introduce both of those models in India, but the first one is definitely coming. That being said, the Mi MIX 2 is a direct successor to the Mi MIX which was announced last year, and it comes with really thin bezels. The phone does sport a ‘chin’ below the display, though it’s thinner than it was in the first-gen smartphone, and the fingerprint scanner is now located on the back of the device, while it was placed below the display in the first-gen model.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 sports a 5.99-inch 2160 x 1080 display, which sports an 18:9 aspect ratio. This phone comes in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, with 64GB, 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. A 12-megapixel shooter is placed on the back of the Mi MIX 2, while a 5-megapixel camera lies on the front side of this phone. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this smartphone, and a 3,400mAh non-removable battery is also included in this package (fast charging included). Android 7.1 Nougat comes pre-installed on the Mi MIX 2, while you’ll find Xiaomi’s MIUI 9 OS on top of it.
