Samsung Canada Intros A $200 Galaxy Note 8 Upgrade Incentive

If you are currently a Galaxy Note device owner, Samsung Canada wants you to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 8 flagship in exchange for a $200 incentive with Samsung Canada Prepaid Mastercard. According to the Frequently Asked Questions page created by Samsung for the program, the upgrade offer is available only to owners of older Galaxy Note phablets, as well as former owners of the discontinued Galaxy Note 7 in Canada, provided they had registered their old device with Samsung, signed up for a Samsung account, and opted to receive promotional ads via email from Samsung on or before October 17th.

The offer is part of a broader effort to get more people to switch to the Galaxy Note 8, Samsung’s latest flagship that was released in mid-September in 42 countries, including the United States, Canada, Singapore, South Korea, and various European markets. Keep in mind that the South Korean original equipment manufacturer is giving Galaxy Note device owners until November 9th to comply with the various requirements to become eligible for the upgrade offer. As for how long it will take you to receive the $200 Prepaid Mastercard, Samsung says it might take between six to eight weeks for you to complete the fulfillment process during which the company needs to verify that your new Galaxy Note 8 is active under a Canadian wireless plan for more than fifteen days after its purchase. The unlocked version of the Galaxy Note 8 is available for purchase in Canada for a retail price of $1,299 CAD, which is slightly higher than the phablet's price in the United States.

The newly introduced offer also applies to existing owners of the Galaxy Note 8 who recently purchased the Android-powered phablet from one of Samsung's licensed distributors in the country who are also now able to register their previously acquired flagships and apply for the $200 incentive. The Galaxy Note 8 is expected to become one of the best-selling Android smartphones in 2017 and the only lineup that's expected to outperform it in terms of sales is the Galaxy S8 one.
